SOS India. Help in India’s Covid Crisis
Our souls cry out over the COVID crisis in India. As American-Born Indian’s and NRI’s this situation has been devastating to watch from the comfort of our phones far away from the trauma and uncertainty of this horrific situation. But we will not allow the grief to paralyze us to inaction, our community in the diaspora is not short on privilege or abundance, so we are asking our people to let that flow back to our ancestral homeland because they desperately need our support.
1 US dollar equals 73.32 Indian Rupees and that goes a long way. Collectively, we can make an impact. We have compiled a list of vetted organizations doing relief work in India. Whatever your social location, please donate in the capacity which you are able.

Help Needy Rural Trans Folks - Started by Grace Banu, Dalit and transgender activist, this campaign seeks support for several directly impacted, vulnerable, disenfranchised, and marginalised communities across the country. This includes transgender folk artistes,HIV infectected trans folks from across Tamil Nadu, who are left with neither food nor wages and paying rent in these difficult times.

Direct cash support to families of COVID deceased
GiveIndia - Support Low-income Families bereaved by COVID - GiveIndia will be initiating direct bank transfers to families of the deceased through trusted NGO partners. Each bereaved family will receive a one-time humanitarian cash support of ₹30,000 to help with living expenses.
