Disrupting Anti-Blackness in South Asian Communities Live Workshop
Black History Month Event:
The anti-racism space often-times operates in a Black and White Binary, erasing the fact that Brown folx are complicit in upholding and perpetuating the systems of White supremacy and anti-Blackness. This interactive workshop will explore how the systems of whiteness and anti-Blackness exist within South Asian communities. Participants of this workshop will think critically about how the system of anti-Blackness shows up within their own communities of color and will explore strategies that can help disrupt anti-Blackness and White supremacy. This learning experience has been designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to disrupt anti-Blackness and encourage cross-racial allyship.
50% of the proceeds will be donated to Black Futures Lab. Black Futures Lab works with Black people to transform our communities, building Black political power and changing the way that power operates—locally, statewide, and nationally. The other 50% of the workshop fee will go to operation costs of MSJ.
Space is limited. First come, first serve.
Workshop will be taught by Cindu Thomas-George:
